Dylan Shelton

Dylan Shelton is a creator of puppet theatre and serves as the Artistic Director of Madcap Puppets. In this role, Dylan writes and directs original puppet performances and adaptations of great literature that tour across the country and internationally.

Mel Hatch Douglas

Mel considers herself fortunate to have been mentored by Madcap founder Jerry Handorf. She acts and directs for Madcap as the Associate Artistic Director, and tours the Midwest as Madcap’s “Artist-In-Residence”.

TECHNICAL DIRECTOR

Chris Douglas

Chris’ passion for mechanical and building began in his father’s workshop as a young boy. There he learned from his dad and his grandfather the basics of construction, auto mechanics, wood, metal working, as well as how to use and maintain tools and a workshop.

OPERATIONS DIRECTOR

Charyl Mikles

Drinks black coffee, avid reader of fairy tales, enjoys being outside of buildings. Keeps the Madcap train on track.

BOOKING AND COMMUNICATIONS MANAGER

Sean Mette

A Native Cincinnatian, Sean graduated from Capital University with a BA in Theatre studies and Music. Sean’s career at Madcap started in 2005, touring and premiering several shows such as: Monkey See, Monkey Do, Aesop’s Classic Fables, Look Out Galileo and Twain’s Twisted Tales.

Spenser Smith

Spenser is excited having never to go to work thanks to Madcap Puppets! His passion for the arts began with his 5th grade production of The Best Christmas Pageant Ever where he was given permission to do all the things his mom said he couldn’t.

Brandon Leatherland is ecstatic to be working with Madcap Puppets! He received his Bachelor of Science degree from Radford University in 2015.
