Dylan Shelton is a creator of puppet theatre and serves as the Artistic Director of Madcap Puppets. In this role, Dylan writes and directs original puppet performances and adaptations of great literature that tour across the country and internationally.
Mel considers herself fortunate to have been mentored by Madcap founder Jerry Handorf. She acts and directs for Madcap as the Associate Artistic Director, and tours the Midwest as Madcap’s “Artist-In-Residence”.
Chris’ passion for mechanical and building began in his father’s workshop as a young boy. There he learned from his dad and his grandfather the basics of construction, auto mechanics, wood, metal working, as well as how to use and maintain tools and a workshop.
A Native Cincinnatian, Sean graduated from Capital University with a BA in Theatre studies and Music. Sean’s career at Madcap started in 2005, touring and premiering several shows such as: Monkey See, Monkey Do, Aesop’s Classic Fables, Look Out Galileo and Twain’s Twisted Tales.
Rachel is a Virginia native who got her B.A. in Theatre Performance at James Madison University! She would like to thank her parents and the wonderful teachers in her life for their love and support. Rachel is completely thrilled to be a part of the Madcap team!
Rachel is thrilled to join Madcap Productions this season! She is a Washington, D.C. native. For the last year she has been on the road touring in the Midwest and New England with The National Theatre for Children and Hampstead Stage Company. She has a BFA in Acting from Towson University (Baltimore, Maryland) where she was also introduced to the magic of puppet design and performance. She is grateful to her family and friends for always supporting and loving her through the ups and downs.
Blythe Russo is a puppet designer and builder. Blythe has created puppets for Madcap’s The Case of the Kidnapped Backpack, Jules and Verne’s Excellent Adventure, The Wonderful Wizard of Oz, and A Madcap Christmas Carol.
